Internship in Alicante - week 2
The second week was as intense as the first one, and together with my co-trainees (yes, it's a word) we manage to do a lot of things: watch the sunset, paddlesurf (no waves for surfing this time), trip to Laguna rosa, a yoga class where I managed to fall asleep, parties and, of course, loads of trainings, workshops and e-learning. If it continues like this, I won't make it to my 30s :)
The days are still warm and long enough to go watch the sunset, and the last week's one was especially charming. I should mention that the photo was taken by my Slovenian friend, now that I'm working with intellectuall property.
As we spend a lot of time sitting, we decided to walk back home every now and then. It should take a bit more than one hour, but last week it took us two - we stopped in El palmeral - local park full of palm trees, flowers, artificial-chlorine-smelling waterfalls and mosquitos.
There is also a gym in the office, offering also yoga classes. Our teacher has a truly beautiful relaxing voice, so no wonder I fell asleep last Friday and my Czech yoga mate had to wake me up, laughing at me. He said next time he would leave me there :)
After the class there was a housewarming party at my place. My balcony is ideal for yelling and whistling at people (I'm kinda surprised my flatmates haven't kicked me out yet), and it's also the only place where 1+ person can still breathe without sweating. Afterwards we went to the first party for us trainees, organized by the former ones. Gin and tonic for 4 €, 100+ trainees and loads of fun.
Saturday is usually supposed to be the hangover day, but not in our case - we went to try paddlesurf. I thought that the whole summer I spent practising on the lake in Brno would be of help, but nope, I just developed some bad habits. However, it was beautiful, stunning and a little scary, as there was a lot of rocks and jellyfish. But the disgusting one that doesn't really burn you, and yet you don't want to fall, which can be a bit problematic in the sea.
Sunday was the big day - we went to visit the pink lake, Laguna rosa. We were looking forward to the train ride where we would get all the information about the lakes, but no, due to the flooding two weeks ago there was no train service. So we walked. And it was definitely worth it! The lake was as pink as a lake can be, the only thing that was missing were the flamingos, but we saw them from the bus.
Yes, last week was exhausting, but beautiful! This weekend we are going to Valencia, so if you know where to eat a good paella in there, let me know, I will be more than grateful :)
Have a great week and I'll be back with the summary of the third one. I can already tell you that it's being equally full of action :)
